On July 31, Tan Hai Ward Police (HCMC) took the stone-throated subject to Ba Ria - Vung Tau Mental Hospital for treatment of symptoms of psychosis due to illegal use of drugs.
Previously, at noon on July 29, people in Group 15, Dong Hai Quarter, Tan Hai Ward discovered a subject showing unusual signs, holding a knife and climbing up to sit on the roof, dancing and screaming, so they reported it to the authorities.
Upon receiving the information, Tan Hai Ward Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department and the Mobile Police Department (Ho Chi Minh City Police) to deploy forces, persuade the subject to go to the ground and hand over the weapons.
After many hours of applying professional measures, the subject was restrained and taken to the headquarters for questioning. The subject was identified as D.D.A (born in 1988, from Ha Tinh), positive for drugs through a quick test and showing signs of psychosis.
The authorities are continuing to investigate to clarify and consolidate the case file to resolve the subject according to regulations.
