Navigating users to order prescriptions from pharmacy applications to VNeID is a challenge, besides the benefits of safety and convenience.

Ordering medicine online on the VNeID application is an app-to-app connection solution announced by the Center for Research and Application of Population Data and Citizen Identification (RAR Center) under Department C06 - Ministry of Public Security on December 13.

This is a component of the Electronic Health Book, which has been integrated on VNeID since October 2024, with the goal of "After 2025, every Vietnamese citizen, including those who do not have a health insurance card (electronic insurance), will own an electronic health book on the VNeID application, moving towards having an electronic medical record. With this, in the future, people can proactively track their medical examination and treatment history, prescriptions and purchase medicine centrally on VNeID.

It is expected that in early 2025, online drug purchases will be available on VNeID. Sharing with Lao Dong, Ms. Le Thu, living in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “I am still curious about the mechanism of online drug ordering on VNeID. If it is a prescription from a doctor, it will bring many benefits to users, saving time and costs. But one problem is information security, when the pharmacy will have all personal information and medical history.”

Currently, there are many online medicine ordering applications in the Vietnamese market, such as Jio Health, Omi Care, Medigo, Phano Care, etc., which are trusted by many people. “I see that some units and pharmacies are currently doing very well in ordering medicine online. Therefore, guiding users to switch to ordering medicine on VNeID is a challenge,” Ms. Thu added.

According to Lao Dong's research, in order to be able to implement online drug purchases on VNeID, recently the RAR Center - under the National Population Data Center, Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (C06) - Ministry of Public Security, has integrated the system, upgraded the technology infrastructure and applied many modern solutions to be able to activate the utility.

Meanwhile, in recent times, VNeID electronic identification accounts have been strongly applied to all aspects of economic and social life. Many utilities have been deployed on VNeID to serve people after careful testing, evaluation, screening and preparation.

It is expected that by 2025, VNeID will have more than 40 million accounts, corresponding to 40 million integrated Health Books. That shows that VNeID is gradually becoming a companion of every citizen in every aspect of life.

Being able to buy medicine online from VNeID has met one of the most essential needs of people, helping to buy and use medicine in an electronic environment safely, with transparency in price and origin.

Moreover, people can easily track and access information throughout the entire purchasing process, from product details, prices, pharmacists, delivery people..., ensuring the quality of the medicine at every stage when it reaches the customer.
