Hai Duong attracts Japan to invest in semiconductor industry

Hai Duong - Hai Duong attracts investment from Japan in the fields of semiconductor industry, high-tech agriculture and environmental treatment.

On March 31, the Vietnam - Japan Experts' Association (VJS) working delegation and representatives of a number of Japanese enterprises came to learn about investment opportunities in Hai Duong.

At the meeting, Professor Tran Dang Xuan - Professor at Hiroshima University, Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Experts Association emphasized the role of the Vietnam - Japan Experts Association in connecting and cooperating between businesses of the two countries and hoped to continue promoting investment cooperation between Hai Duong and Japanese businesses. Especially enterprises in Kagoshima and Hiroshima provinces have strengths in the fields of semiconductor industry and high-tech agriculture.

In addition, VJS representative also said that many Japanese enterprises are interested in and need to learn about and cooperate in investment in the field of refrigeration, application in agricultural product storage; shipbuilding; environmental treatment, especially technology to treat oil spills, chemical leaks, and toxic wastewater.

In addition, Professor Tran Dang Xuan said that Hiroshima University (HU) is implementing a semiconductor engineering training program for Vietnam, expected to start implementation from October 2027. According to the training program, students will study English for 2 years at HU, 2 years at Idaho University (UI).

Thereby, VJS representative hopes to cooperate with Hai Duong's education sector in recruiting and receiving talented students from Vietnam.

Mr. Iri Kazuaki - General Director of Dentsu Kensetsu Company, a company specializing in consulting, design and construction in Japan, said that the Company has opened offices in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and wishes to go to Hai Duong to learn about investment opportunities and open more company branch offices in the province.

Also at the meeting, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau informed about Hai Duong's favorable geographical location, potential and advantages, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Hai Duong has a convenient transport infrastructure, very close to Hai Phong International Seaport, closely connected to Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), in addition to Gia Binh Airport (Bac Ninh) under construction. Hai Duong's labor force is skilled and willing to learn. In addition, the province is developing the logistics sector.
