On November 14, the Truong Sa Island Logistics - Technical Service Center (under Squadron 129, Navy) successfully fixed the problem for fishing boat PY-90009.TS in Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen province) to continue its fishing journey.
Previously, on the morning of November 13, while fishing in an area about 12 nautical miles southwest of Truong Sa archipelago, fishing boat PY-90009.TS captained by Mr. T.V.D (51 years old) had a broken gearbox, affecting its mobility. Therefore, Mr. T.V.D contacted the Truong Sa Island Logistics - Technical Service Center for support to fix the problem, and at the same time proceeded to locally dock the ship on the island.
The Center's technical staff checked the damage and determined that the alloy clutch had broken the alloy wheel system, leaking oil, so they removed the alloy clutch and brought it to the repair shop.
At around 10:00 a.m. on November 14, the problem of fishing boat PY-90009.TS was resolved, installed, and tested to operate normally. And temporarily anchored to wait for favorable weather to continue fishing at sea.
On this occasion, the Center also organized a propaganda campaign about IUU, provided 2,000 liters of fresh water, presented the national flag, life jackets and some necessities to fishermen on board.
