On the morning of August 16, residential groups, villages and hamlets in Buon Ma Thuot ward simultaneously launched a general environmental cleaning campaign, killing bedridden worms to prevent and control dengue fever.
According to the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot Ward, since the beginning of the year, the locality has recorded more than 150 cases of dengue fever and the epidemic is on the rise.
To respond, the ward has established 89 shock teams and monitoring teams with nearly 700 members participating in killing langurs and walking insects.
At the same time, the authorities have promoted communication in the community, raised awareness, changed epidemic prevention behavior and encouraged people to proactively kill mosquitoes and ticks in households.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the authorities and shock teams conducted a general environmental cleaning, cleared village roads, alleys and sprayed mosquito repellent in the area.
