Hung Yen accelerates dynamic traffic axes, expanding development potential

Hung Yen - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requests to accelerate the completion of planning, develop strategic infrastructure, and create new growth momentum for the province.

On May 12, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - chaired a working session with the Department of Construction, listening to a report on the results of state management tasks in the first 4 months of the year and deploying key tasks for the last 8 months of 2026.

According to the report, the Department of Construction currently performs state management functions in many important areas such as construction planning; urban development; housing and real estate market; construction investment activities; construction quality management; transport infrastructure, urban technical infrastructure; construction materials; transportation, registration and ensuring traffic order and safety.

From July 1, 2025 to May 6, 2026, the Department of Construction has appraised and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval 18 urban and rural planning projects; continued to implement planning of dynamic traffic routes, inter-regional connecting axes, urban areas, eco-tourism areas and many social housing projects. The whole province currently has 132 commercial housing projects under implementation.

Many key transport infrastructure projects such as Ring Road 4 in the Capital region, Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway, inter-regional connectivity routes are being focused on accelerating progress. In the 2026 - 2030 period, the province strives to complete about 44,750 social housing units, of which about 5,000 units in 2026 alone.

In the field of transportation, the whole province currently has more than 1,600 transport business units with over 16,300 vehicles granted operating badges. The management of registration, passenger and cargo transportation, inland waterway ports and driver training continues to be maintained stably.

At the working session, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying the achieved results, difficulties and obstacles, and proposing solutions on transport infrastructure development, urban planning, social housing development, administrative procedure reform, and investment attraction.

Speaking in conclusion, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen requested departments, branches, and localities to unify awareness, accelerate, and break through; tighten discipline and administrative order, and improve responsibility in performing tasks. At the same time, he requested the Department of Construction to continue to review and clearly assign people, work, and responsibilities; take specific results and products as a measure to evaluate officials.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that planning must be constructive, creating long-term development momentum. In which, the Northern region focuses on developing urban areas, high-tech industry and services; the central area prioritizes urban areas, trade, clean industry; the coastal area and economic zone continue to be the driving force for industrial, logistics, seaport and marine economy development.

In addition, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Department of Construction study investing in an AI camera system integrated with the IOC Smart Operation Center to improve traffic management efficiency; continue to promote digital transformation, strengthen decentralization and delegation of power associated with specific responsibilities, ensuring smooth and effective work is resolved.
