At a recent high-level exchange between the two sides, Mr. Dang Khac Vy - Chairman of VIB - shared: "Visa is VIB's strategic partner in the journey to build a new generation payment ecosystem in Vietnam. What VIB and Visa have jointly implemented in recent years is proof of a substantive cooperation relationship, focusing on depth and long-term orientation. We expect the next phase to create even greater breakthroughs for Vietnamese users, especially through deep personalization of financial and banking services for customers".
Mr. Stephen Karpin - President of Asia-Pacific region of Visa - commented: "Vietnam is in a clear acceleration phase in digital payment transformation, with an increasing demand for convenient, safe and more personalized financial experiences. Visa appreciates the efforts of its banking partner in Vietnam in bringing innovative payment solutions closer to users, in which VIB is one of the banks with many outstanding initiatives in the field of card and digital payments".

VIB and Visa cooperation journey: From personal cards to a comprehensive payment ecosystem
The cooperative relationship between VIB and Visa has gone beyond the traditional card issuance framework, becoming a cooperative relationship to create technology products and solutions in many segments.
Examples include the deployment of VIB PayFlex based on Visa Flex Credential technology - allowing cardholders to pay from both credit and payment accounts with just one card - VIB is a pioneer in applying this technology in Vietnam.
In the business segment, Visa and VIB have jointly built a supply chain financial solution with three clear benefits: expanding access to capital, ensuring transparency, and optimizing cash flow - continuing to mark a pioneering mark in VIB's first cooperation with Visa in the B2B payment segment.
This cooperation relationship has been officially recognized by Visa with many annual awards for VIB. At the Visa Vietnam Customer Conference 2025, VIB was honored with three awards including Digital Pioneer (Pioneer bank in deploying digital solutions), Payment Volume Growth (Bank with the leading growth rate of Visa card transactions), and Supply Chain Payment & Commercial Card Innovation 2025. Previously, Visa also awarded VIB the "Breakthrough Personalization with AI" award - recognizing the first bank in Vietnam to apply AI to personalize credit cards.
Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung - Director of Visa Vietnam and Laos - said: "VIB has shown vision and commitment in bringing advanced payment innovations to users. We believe that the cooperation between the two sides will strongly promote cashless payments and improve the financial experience for customers in Vietnam".
Target to lead the card market in the next 3 years
That solid cooperation platform is being further exploited by VIB in a new phase with an ambitious goal. In 2025, VIB conquered the milestone of 1 million cards, officially joining the "million card club" with more than 1.1 million outstanding credit cards, an increase of 29% compared to the previous year. Total spending through cards exceeded the 5 billion USD mark - reflecting a high actual usage frequency, not just the issuance scale.
At the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Mr. Dang Khac Vy affirmed his vision: "Cards will play a central role, connecting with digital platforms such as MyVIB and Max Digital Bank to form a seamless transaction ecosystem." The goal set for the next 3 years is to lead the card market - both in quantity, experience and usage value.
The first step to realize that strategy is Max Card - the first credit card in Vietnam with a subscription banking model that allows cardholders to proactively upgrade benefits according to spending needs, with 4 packages from basic to premium: Starter, Plus, Pro and Elite.
Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung - Director of Visa Vietnam and Laos - shared: "Max Card reflects a new direction in card product development in Vietnam, as users increasingly have a need for flexibility and personalization of financial experiences. This is also the trend that Visa is promoting in many markets around the globe and we see that banks in Vietnam, including VIB, are actively researching and deploying new models suitable for modern consumer trends".

Only after a short time of launch, Max Card recorded remarkable results: 5,000 cards were issued in just the first 10 days and the number of card users gradually increased by 1,000 cardholders per day - clear evidence of the appeal of the subscription banking model to young customer groups in Vietnam. Max Card was also honored by the Vietnam Records Organization as the first credit card line allowing customers to actively register for membership according to personal needs.
Ms. Tuong Nguyen - Deputy General Director of VIB - emphasized: "VIB's card strategy in the coming period is to deeply rebuild in the direction of the new generation - shifting from leading in quantity to leading in experience and value with AI technology platform and real-time personalization. Max Card is the first step in that journey, opening up a trend of cards adapting flexibly to each person's own needs. And the companionship of card partners such as Visa - from technology to global network - is an important factor for VIB to realize that vision".
Towards new standards of the Vietnamese payment market
VIB and Visa have recorded an effective and substantive cooperation period, while opening the next chapter, together towards a more modern, more personalized Vietnamese payment market, and deeper connection with the global financial ecosystem.
The VIB card, after many years of being associated with the position of "LEADING the card trend", has truly gradually affirmed its leading trend in terms of benefits, experience and technology for nearly 3 million cardholders. When the card connects with the myVIB and Max powered by VIB digital payment ecosystem, it will aim for a new standard of the Vietnamese payment market where payment tools and financial and banking products will be deeply personalized and connected to customers' payment journeys conveniently with the highest experience on the foundation of technology and AI.
