To celebrate the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2026), on the afternoon of February 24, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - visited, congratulated and encouraged the team of officials, civil servants, and public employees throughout the health sector.
At the visit, leaders of the Department of Health reported on health work during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026. As of February 23 (the 7th day of Tet), people's health care work in the province was deployed synchronously and effectively; no epidemics occurred, and no shortage of medicines or medical supplies was recorded.
The whole province has 31,661 patient visits for examination and treatment; performed 929 surgeries, including 74 emergency surgeries. Medical facilities maintain 24/24 hour duty with 4 levels of duty, ensuring sufficient manpower, medicines, equipment, ready to receive and handle emergency cases.
During Tet, the whole province recorded 950 patient visits due to traffic accidents, 21 cases due to firecracker explosions, 1 case of accident due to homemade explosives, 20 cases of food poisoning. Food safety and hygiene assurance work has been strengthened; inspection teams have promoted inspection and post-inspection, promptly detecting and handling violations. Disease prevention and control work has been maintained seriously, and so far no epidemics have occurred in the province.

In addition, the health sector coordinated to effectively implement social security work: the whole province organized longevity wishes and longevity celebrations for 93791 elderly people with a total budget of about 57 billion VND; giving gifts to 591 children in difficult circumstances with a total budget of over 226 million VND.
Speaking at the visit, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc sent deep gratitude to generations of doctors who have been and are contributing to the cause of caring for, protecting and improving people's health; affirming that the health sector always plays a particularly important role and responsibility in all stages of the province's development, not only being a professional fulcrum but also a spiritual support for the people, contributing to consolidating social trust and making positive contributions to the local socio-economic development goals.
