Within the framework of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week to celebrate the Ok Om Bok Festival in 2025, on November 4, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province organized a survey program on river tourism routes and destinations in the province.
The delegation included nearly 80 delegates representing the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association and travel businesses from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh Long.
The group went to Mo Cay commune to survey the Coconut Floating Market on the Thom River - a typical trading point of the river area, where coconut products are bought and sold.
Next, the group visited Con Ho, experienced the community tourism model with many activities such as soaking in herbs, enjoying ginger tea, grapefruit jams, watching traditional wine cooking and visiting the local fruit garden.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province said that this survey program aims to introduce typical tourism products of Vinh Long, while creating conditions for domestic and foreign travel businesses to connect, forming tours to more effectively exploit the potential of river tourism, ecology and local community culture.
The survey activities not only contribute to promoting the image of a dynamic and unique Vinh Long but also aim at the goal of sustainable tourism development, associated with building a brand of safe, friendly and attractive destinations for tourists in the coming time.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to accompany localities and businesses to improve products and service quality, thereby making tourism an important economic sector of the province Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung emphasized.
