On February 13, An Giang Provincial Police awarded unexpected rewards to the Economic Police Department and the Office of the Investigation Police Agency, 5 million VND each unit, for outstanding achievements in crime prevention and control. Prominent are the results of arresting and mobilizing 5 wanted subjects and dismantling a case of producing and trading in counterfeit food, seizing a large amount of raw materials, additives and related exhibits.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police - praised the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness, and decisiveness of the two units in synchronously deploying professional measures, in the fight against crime, contributing to maintaining security and order in the province. At the same time, Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong emphasized that the results achieved show the efforts and high determination of officers and soldiers in the work of fighting, preventing, and handling crimes, especially economic crimes and wanted criminals.
Since the beginning of the year, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency has pursued and mobilized the surrender of 5 wanted subjects, contributing to improving the effectiveness of crime pursuit and ensuring the strictness of the law.
Previously, on February 4, 2026, the Economic Police Department successfully fought and dismantled a special case, arresting 3 subjects for the act of "Producing and trading in counterfeit goods that are food and foodstuffs". Seized exhibits included nearly 360kg of finished coffee; 158kg of roasted coffee; nearly 5 tons of preliminarily processed, roasted and flavored corn and soybeans; 1,260kg of colorants; 600kg of sweeteners; 8 boxes of additives with a total weight of 80kg; more than 29 tons of raw corn and soybean materials that have not been preliminarily processed; nearly 7,450 packages and many other related exhibits.
Timely detection and dismantling of the special case has contributed to preventing a large number of counterfeit goods at risk of being put on the market, protecting consumer rights and maintaining the stability of the goods market in the area.
