On March 14, Phu My Ward Police (HCMC) said that they had initiated a criminal case, prosecuted defendants and temporarily detained 4 subjects to investigate the act of buying, selling, and organizing the use of drugs occurring in the area.
Previously, through grasping the situation, Phu My Ward Police invited 3 subjects including: Nguyen Thanh Sang (permanently residing in Vinh Long province); Ho Van Hieu (permanently residing in Dak Lak province) and Hoang Do Trung (permanently residing in Ho Chi Minh City) to work. Through testing, the subjects all tested positive for crystal meth.
During the verification process, the subjects confessed to using drugs together many times in a rented room in Tan Hanh neighborhood, Phu My ward. The drugs used were bought by the subjects from a person named Vo Minh Lam.
Phu My Ward Police continued to verify and invited Vo Minh Lam to the headquarters to work. Through this, subject Lam admitted to many times illegally selling crystal meth to the above subjects for use.
Therefore, Phu My Ward Police coordinated with the Investigation Police Agency of Ho Chi Minh City Police to initiate a criminal case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain 4 subjects for further investigation and handling.
According to Phu My Ward Police, the detection, investigation and strict handling of subjects with drug-related acts contribute to ensuring security and order in the ward. At the same time, it recommends that people raise their awareness of law compliance, actively coordinate and provide information related to drug law violations to the Police agency, contributing to building a safe and healthy living environment.
