On July 16, according to information from Hai Phong City Police, at about 11:10 p.m. on July 15, 2025, at Km 37+980 National Highway 5 (in Mao Dien Commune), the Mao Dien Commune Police Patrol Team discovered a young man driving a motorbike without a helmet, showing suspicious signs while on duty.
When checked, the subject accelerated and fled, forcing Mr. G.S.S (born in 1993, residing in Khe Phan village, Van Ban commune, Lao Cai province) who was traveling in the same direction to the side of the road, then pulled out the scissors hidden on the vehicle to threaten to rob property.
The subject was identified as Vu Xuan Du (born in 1989), residing in My Hao ward, Hung Yen province. The working group promptly approached, controlled, and arrested Du on the spot. During the arrest, the subject threw scissors into the bushes along the road.
The seized exhibits include: 1 motorbike with license plate 89F1-62078, 02 mobile phones, 1 scissors and some related evidence.
Currently, the Criminal Police Department of Hai Phong City Police is coordinating with Mao Dien Commune Police to continue investigating and handling according to the provisions of law.
