On the morning of February 19, Chau Doc Ward Police, An Giang province said that they had just coordinated with forces and people to promptly search and take the young man who jumped off Chau Doc bridge to commit suicide to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Previously, at about 8:45 pm on February 18, 2026, Chau Doc Ward Police received a report from people about discovering a young man driving a motorbike from Chau Phong commune to the middle of Chau Doc bridge, then abandoning the motorbike and climbing onto the bridge railing to jump into the river to commit suicide.
Immediately after receiving the information, Chau Doc Ward Police assigned forces to the scene, and quickly notified Chau Doc Waterway Police Station (under the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police); Chau Doc Area Fire and Rescue Police Team (under the Fire and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police); Chau Phong Commune Police to coordinate in searching for the victim.
After an urgent time and efforts of the forces, at about 9:15 pm on the same day, the police force and people discovered the victim drifting about 100m from the scene, so they brought him ashore. Immediately after that, Chau Doc Ward Police used patrol vehicles to take the victim to the hospital for timely emergency treatment.
It is known that the victim's name is C.V. T (born in 2006, residing in Long Phu ward, An Giang province). Initial determined cause: Mr. T. jumped off the bridge to commit suicide due to family troubles. Currently, T.'s health has stabilized.
