On December 22, the Traffic Police Team of Thai Hoa area (under Traffic Police Station No. 48, Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police) said that the unit had just promptly supported and prevented a male student with signs of psychological instability in Cau Hieu 2 area.
According to initial information, on the morning of December 21, during a patrol and control to ensure traffic order and safety in the area, the working group discovered a male student standing on the bridge railing with signs of panic, unstable spirit, in a position preparing to commit suicide by jumping off the bridge.
Recognizing the dangerous situation, the traffic police officers quickly approached, persistently reassured, encouraged and promptly brought this person safely to shore.
After the incident was controlled, the working group took the male student to the headquarters to stabilize his psychology, and at the same time handed him over to the family in Tay Hieu ward for further management and care. The initial cause was determined to be family conflicts, causing the male student to fall into a state of mental crisis.
A representative of the Thai Hoa Traffic Police Team said that the unit will continue to coordinate with the family and local authorities to monitor, support, and contribute to helping young people stabilize soon, avoiding unfortunate consequences.
