On October 27, 2025, at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital (Hanoi), Colonel Vu Trung Thanh - Deputy Director of Hung Yen Provincial Police, along with leaders of the Traffic Police Department and functional departments of the Provincial Police, visited and encouraged Captain Vu Truong Giang, an officer of the Traffic Police Department, who was injured while on duty.
Here, on behalf of the Party Committee and the leaders of the Provincial Police, Colonel Vu Trung Thanh kindly visited and encouraged Captain Vu Truong Giang to feel secure in his treatment, recover quickly and return to work soon.
The Deputy Director of Hung Yen Provincial Police also requested the doctors and nurses of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital to pay attention and support the best conditions for treatment, helping comrade Giang recover soon; at the same time, directing functional departments to fully implement the policies and regimes of the police force for injured officers while performing their duties.
Previously, at around 8:30 p.m. on October 25, 2025, on Hung Vuong Street (Trung Hung Village, Vu Thu Commune), a working group of the Traffic Police Department, Hung Yen Provincial Police was on duty to check alcohol concentration.
When meeting the patrol team, Tran Trung Hieu (born in 2004, residing in Dong Hung village, Thai Ha commune, Hung Yen) was driving a motorbike with license plate 17B6-706.33 and did not comply with the order but accelerated and crashed straight into comrade Vu Truong Giang, causing him to suffer multiple injuries.
The victim was taken to Thai Binh General Hospital for emergency treatment, then transferred to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital for treatment. Immediately after the incident, under the strong direction of the provincial police, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency coordinated with professional units to urgently arrest. In a short time, the subject Tran Trung Hieu was arrested for investigation and handling according to the provisions of the law.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Hung Yen Province Police has issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Tran Trung Hieu for the crime of "Resisting a person on duty" under Clause 1, Article 330 of the Penal Code.
