On August 20, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son inspected the construction progress of the General Hospital construction project (located in Ben Tre ward, Vinh Long province).
Reporting at the meeting, the leader of the Provincial Civil and Industrial Project Management Board said that up to now, the contractor has completed the foundation and is implementing the construction of the rough part of the project. The value of the completed volume is estimated at about 10.77% of the pure contract value (compared to the previous month of 6.88%). The accumulated disbursement value of the payment volume to the third phase reached VND 27,861 billion. The payment dossier for the fourth phase (14.644 billion VND, disbursement value of 11.298 billion VND) has completed the procedures and is expected to be disbursed in August 2025. Currently, the construction unit is coordinating with consulting units to complete the payment documents for the 5th phase (the volume is about 21.5 billion VND, the disbursement value is about 18.5 billion VND).
Regarding equipment, for the medical equipment procurement package, the Provincial Civil and Industrial Project Management Board is coordinating with the consulting unit to explain the contents related to administrative capacity and experience according to the appraisal requirements of the Export-Import Bank of Korea. The hospital management software package is currently in the stage of adding domestic consulting to design details and make estimates. However, progress is still facing difficulties due to complicated procedures, multiple appraisal requirements from sponsors, along with unsynchronized coordination of some consulting units.
Speaking at the inspection, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son acknowledged the contractor's efforts during the 7 months of project implementation. At the same time, he requested relevant units to strengthen coordination, ensure construction progress and timely disbursement. The Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee also requested the investor's representative to strengthen supervision, promptly handle arising issues, review procedures and periodically report progress so that the project can be completed on schedule.
Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son requested the Vinh Long Provincial Civil and Industrial Project Management Board to continue to coordinate with relevant units, urging contractors to focus maximum on labor, materials and equipment to continuously construct "3 shifts, 4 teams", in order to speed up progress and ensure compliance with contracted commitments.
This is a key project, of special significance to the people of Ben Tre (now Vinh Long province). Relevant units need to clearly recognize the urgency of the project and must have urgent and drastic solutions to ensure the project is completed on schedule, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son emphasized.
