According to the Public Transport Management Center (HCMC Department of Construction), two large transport enterprises including Phuong Trang - Futa BusLines Passenger quite Joint Stock Company and Vin bus ecological transportation service company Limited will simultaneously implement a free bus ticket program for the two days of September 1 and 2.
Passengers on bus routes operated by Phuong Trang will not have to pay fees during both holidays. Currently, this unit is operating 75 routes, accounting for nearly 50% of the total bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, passengers traveling on Vinbus bus routes will also receive free tickets during the same period. Vin bus is currently operating 3 bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City.
For Metro No. 1, Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) said that passengers taking the train on September 2 will be given all free tickets.
There are two ways to receive this promotion: Scanning your ID card or chip-embedded citizen ID card at the ticket gate; using a QR code on the HCMC Metro HURC application. People just need to download the application, select the "Independent QR" function, create electronic tickets and scan directly at stations.
In case passengers continue to buy tickets normally, the system will charge the fee as usual and will not refund.
To meet the increased travel demand during the holiday, Metro No. 1 will also extend its operating hours from 5am to 11pm.
At the same time, the number of trains will increase to 264 trips/day on September 1 and 2, 30 trips higher than the normal schedule.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, the policy of free tickets and increased trips is expected to help people travel more conveniently, while encouraging the habit of using public transport in Ho Chi Minh City.
