On December 6, at the question and answer session of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports answered questions about issues related to the state management responsibilities of the industry.
Responding to the opinion of delegate Tran Thi Khanh Linh (Vinh City) about the degradation of the Provincial Cultural Center and the Provincial Competition Center, which are not up to par, and the system of artifacts preserved in the museum is not rich, the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports acknowledged the reality of this situation.
According to the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An, the industry has consulted and included in the Nghe An Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, a list of 3 important projects of the province:
Constructing the North Central Sports Complex and the Nghe An Provincial Sports Training Center; Constructing, renovating and upgrading the Provincial Cultural Center, traditional art center, museums and libraries; Constructing, renovating and upgrading cultural and sports facilities in the area.
The industry will focus on closely following the approved planning to advise the province on solutions to mobilize resources in the direction of attracting investment for implementation.
In response to the delegates' opinions on solutions to build a provincial-level institutional system to ensure Vinh becomes a civilized and modern city, the political, economic and cultural center of the province and the North Central region, the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports said that the industry is actively participating in the implementation of content related to this issue.
In particular, the industry is looking forward to Vinh building a global creative city to submit to UNESCO for approval.
Responding to the opinion of delegate Nguyen Hong Son - Ky Son district about the surplus and shortage of cultural institutions after the merger of administrative units, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh said that after the merger, the whole province has more than 1,800 villages, blocks, and hamlets. Cultural institutions are surplus in quantity but not guaranteed in scale.
Faced with this situation, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue many documents directing to overcome this situation, focusing on reviewing and implementing activities to promote cultural institutions.
Ms. Hanh said that the province currently has more than 800 cultural houses being upgraded and more than 300 cultural houses being included in the new construction planning.
In the immediate future, the Department recommends that localities retain existing institutions as places for community activities, and at the same time implement the contents of Directive No. 28/CT-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on management, use, and promotion of the effectiveness of cultural institutions; review and evaluate to implement planning and have a plan to handle redundant and unused cultural institutions...
