The South is experiencing a clear cold spell as the cold air strengthens and flows deep into the South. Although there will still be light sunshine during the day, the temperature in Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces and cities in the region will decrease significantly compared to previous days, signaling the change of weather.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Le Dinh Quyet - Head of Forecasting Department of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station commented that this year's rainy season ends later than average, expected at the end of November. Statistics up to now show that the total rainfall in most of the Southeast, Southwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City has exceeded the average of many years, due to many days of heavy rain, some places over 100 mm. Although some provinces have had short rains in some months, the total rainfall this year is still high.
Regarding the cold spell, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that this cold spell comes from a strong cold air mass and flows deep into the South. During the day, there will be light sunshine but the temperature will decrease by 1-2 degrees compared to previous days. The temperature in Ho Chi Minh City and the South continues to decrease due to the diffusion of cold air.
The temperature in Ho Chi Minh City may drop to 19-20 degrees Celsius and remain for many days; some areas in Binh Duong (before the merger) may decrease to 18-19 degrees Celsius. It is expected that by December 6, the low temperature will remain in the South due to an additional cold air mass.
