On May 5, Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station said that the hot weather situation continues to occur, and is forecast to last for the next few days.
In the past 24 hours, hot weather has occurred in the southwestern and southern mountainous areas of the province. The highest temperature recorded at Ma Noi Station reached 36.5 degrees Celsius, and in Phuoc Thai was 36.1 degrees Celsius. The relative lowest humidity is commonly in the range of 35-40%.
Due to the influence of the distant southeast edge of the hot low pressure area in the West, from May 6th, hot sun will continue to appear in the mountainous areas of the West, Southwest and South of the province. The highest temperature during the day in these areas is commonly from 35-37 degrees Celsius, the relative lowest humidity is maintained in the range of 35-40%. The time with temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius is concentrated from 11 am to 3 pm.
Specialized agencies warn that hot weather combined with low air humidity increases the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas due to increased electricity demand. At the same time, the risk of forest fires in the province is also high.
In addition, hot weather can cause dehydration, exhaustion, and even heat stroke if the body is exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
It is noteworthy that the forecast temperature in hot weather bulletins and the actual perceived temperature outside can differ from 2-4 degrees Celsius, even higher depending on surface conditions such as concrete and asphalt roads.
