Accordingly, consumers in Vietnam as well as many other countries in the world have had many changes in their psychology and shopping behavior due to climate change, such as limiting food waste, changing the type of food they want to consume, choosing to buy sustainable or environmentally harmful products...

According to the 2024 garbage classification report from Pro Vietnam, 73% of Vietnamese people are concerned about environmental issues, 57% of Vietnamese people often carry reusable bags when shopping...

In particular, 54% of Vietnamese consumers are willing to pay an additional 10% compared to the average price for a product made from recycled/sustainable materials. It can be said that Vietnam is a potential green market in the region, when the majority of consumers support a green lifestyle and are concerned about environmental issues, Ms. Wei Nguyen shared.

In general, through the workshop, experts recognized that green consumption is still a popular trend and will continue to increase in the coming time, opening up opportunities and challenges for businesses.

Therefore, businesses and retailers need to build an ESG (environment, society and corporate governance) strategy to meet the global green consumption trend, towards sustainable development.
