On the afternoon of June 13, at the People's Committee of Khanh Vinh district, the Journalists Association of the Representative Office, Permanent Representative in Khanh Hoa (Khanh Hoa Permanent Press Association) organized the presentation of 20 gifts including new bicycles and Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest products to 20 students who overcame difficulties and studied well at schools in the area.
The program was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 2525 - June 21, 2025).
Each gift is worth about 2 million VND, including a bicycle and a box of bird's nest.
These are practical gifts that help children go to school more conveniently, especially for children who are away from school and have to walk long distances every day.
Ms. Ca Tong Thi Men - Vice Chairman of Khanh Vinh District People's Committee - expressed her gratitude for the meaningful support from journalists.
Ms. Men said that the lives of people in mountainous areas are still difficult, many parents have to work hard to find food, clothing and education for their children. In that condition, many students have to walk more than 3km every day to get to school.
The bicycle will be a valuable companion, helping them to have less arduous journey to find words, Ms. Men shared.
Journalist Van Ngoc - Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Press Association said that after surveying many areas, the association has chosen Khanh Vinh district as the place to implement the charity program this year, with the goal of targeting ethnic minority students and those in especially difficult circumstances.
The bicycle giving activity is part of a series of charity programs maintained by the association every year, to share with the less fortunate lives in society. Therefore, we hope to accompany students in remote areas, giving them more motivation to go to school confidently, Journalist Van Ngoc shared.
The program also demonstrates the spirit of social responsibility of journalists, and is also an opportunity for journalists and reporters to become closer to the lives of people, especially the younger generation in disadvantaged areas.
