The event took place on November 27, within the framework of the Vietnam - Nha Trang Golf Festival 2024 with the coordination between Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and related units, to honor the development history of golf over the past 100 years in Vietnam, thereby contributing to stimulating the development of Vietnam tourism and Khanh Hoa province tourism in particular.
A representative of the Department of Culture and Sports of Khanh Hoa province stated that Khanh Hoa is a locality favored by nature, with favorable conditions in terms of infrastructure, natural resources, and vibrant landscapes with more than 200 islands and archipelagos, a coastline of about 385 km with many estuaries and lagoons, and 3 beautiful bays, including Van Phong Bay, Nha Trang Bay, and Cam Ranh Bay.
Furthermore, there are 3 large-scale golf courses here, which can be said to be famous in the region and the world, contributing to the formation of high-class sports tourism and eco-resort service areas, including golf tourism.
To attract golfers to Vietnam and Khanh Hoa in particular, the role of travel agencies is very important, because these units are the link between airlines, golf courses, destinations, restaurants, hotels, etc. Besides, to develop golf tourism, it is necessary to increase the application of technology to connect most conveniently in terms of information and golf club exchanges.

With a history of 100 years of development in Vietnam, golf has been deeply ingrained in the sports life and awareness of the community. However, the potential for expansion is still great. Therefore, the presentations spent a lot of time analyzing the importance of developing youth golf as well as the local golf movement.
Mr. Bach Cuong Khang - Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Golf Association made some recommendations. To develop youth golf in Vietnam, there needs to be synchronization from many factors, including infrastructure, support policies, community awareness and training quality.
One practical solution is to develop a golf education program in schools: Schools can include golf in their physical education programs, especially in primary and secondary schools. There needs to be cooperation between sports organizations and the education sector to create useful sports playgrounds for students.
In the field of developing the local golf movement, Ms. Nguyen Van Anh - Permanent Vice President, General Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Golf Association said that the golf movement in the Southern region still has a lot of room for development in the future if the number of golf courses, preferential policies for members and tournaments of the Association are increased.
Commentator Nam Giang - founder of Golf Edit, The Golfers pointed out: "Currently in Vietnam, tournaments are getting more attention when there is television and livestream. The breakthrough from VG Corp in broadcasting tournament images and professional filming has helped everyone have the opportunity to watch golf easily. There have been livestreams reaching 40,000 to 50,000 views per day. Hundreds of news articles are posted every time a tournament is held."
However, the revenue for golf media is still modest. Golf media itself also faces competition when partners will choose core channels that have good spread and positive orientation to users.
