In which, people need to be very vigilant against strange dogs and cats appearing in the area. If unfortunately bitten by strange dogs and cats causing injuries, they need to quickly go to the nearest medical facility for advice and timely vaccination. Absolutely do not be subjective or use unverified folk remedies.
Households raising dogs and cats in the area need to immediately vaccinate dogs and cats against rabies; must keep them in captivity, manage them strictly, and not let pets roam freely. In case dogs and cats suspected of rabies are detected, it is necessary to immediately report to the local health sector for coordination in handling.
According to the Long Son Commune Health Station, in April 2026, there were 3 cases of dogs and cats biting people in the area. Among them, on April 7, 1 person was recorded being bitten by a dog at a company in group 6, hamlet 1 (the dog is still alive). On April 12, 2 children were recorded being bitten by a dog in group 7, hamlet 5 (the dog is currently dead). On April 19, 1 person was recorded being bitten by a stray dog in group 6, hamlet 7 (the dog is still alive).
The above cases have been vaccinated against rabies by functional forces and are being monitored. In the coming time, the locality will continue to propagate and mobilize households in the area to coordinate in implementing preventive measures, thereby contributing to protecting community health and saying no to rabies.
In Phuoc Thang ward (HCMC), there have also just been many cases of dogs suspected of rabies biting some people causing injuries. Local authorities have also intervened to review and implement zoning measures.
