On March 26, Ho Chi Minh City People's Court opened a first-instance trial of the case related to the group collecting "protection" money at Binh Dien market. Of which, Chau Phat Hung was sentenced to 15 years in prison, Chau Phat Tuan to 4 years in prison, Duong Van Thanh to 9 years in prison and Danh Gol to 8 years in prison for the crime of extortion.

Discovering foreigners opening a factory to produce 1.4 tons of synthetic drugs
On the afternoon of March 26, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (C04, Ministry of Public Security) informed about the 199D project, which destroyed a drug factory in Khanh Hoa province led by foreigners.
Previously, the authorities discovered a number of subjects showing signs of preparing to illegally produce drugs in Vietnam. At the end of September 2024, C04 decided to establish a 199D special project to destroy the ring and arrest all subjects.
After 6 months of establishing the project, C04 identified the ring leader as Truong Xuan Minh, 51 years old, Taiwanese (Chinese) nationality. Minh came to Vietnam in 2021, creating a cover to invest, do business, and raise ornamental fish.
At around 0:00 on March 22, nearly 200 officers and soldiers simultaneously attacked and arrested subjects who were illegally producing drugs.
At the production facility, the authorities seized 118kg of finished ketamine, 160 liters of ketamine solution, 17 tons of chemicals, and chains and equipment for drug production.
