After many sessions of struggling at a narrow range, the price of gold bars this morning (August 14) was unexpectedly adjusted by some businesses to increase sharply to 800,000 VND/tael. The price of SJC gold bars was listed by some units such as Bao Tin Minh Chau and DOJI Group at 123.5-124.7 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out). The difference between buying and selling prices is at 1.2 million VND/tael.
Phu Quy Jewelry Group listed the price of SJC gold bars at 122.7-124.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 800,000 VND/tael in both directions. The difference between buying and selling prices is at 2 million VND/tael. Saigon Jewelry Company SJC listed the price of SJC gold bars at 123.7-124.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell), the difference between the buying and selling prices is at 1 million VND/tael.

Many hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City are tired of waiting to pay tens of billions of VND for health insurance
Many hospitals are currently facing financial difficulties due to the cost of drugs and medical supplies exceeding the health insurance (HI) estimate. According to a representative of a first-class hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, the hospital's medicine debt to pharmaceutical companies alone accounts for more than 50% of the amount not covered by health insurance, while the revenue is not enough to cover the shortfall from the delay in payment exceeding the health insurance estimate at this hospital.
"We have to prioritize paying staff salaries first, while the pharmaceutical company would like to pay gradually," the hospital representative shared. The main reason comes from the fact that the health insurance assigns annual spending estimates, requiring hospitals to package within the assigned limit. However, when the number of patients increases, the disease becomes more severe or the price of drugs and supplies escalates, the actual cost easily exceeds the estimate. This excess was not paid immediately, causing the hospital to suffer a debt.

Gasoline prices drop across the board from 3pm this afternoon
In today's adjustment session (8.14), the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at VND 19,354/liter (down VND 254/liter). RON 95-III gasoline price decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at VND19,584/liter (down VND190/liter).
Prices of oil products also decreased simultaneously. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at VND18,077/liter (down VND723/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND18,020/liter (down VND640/liter); mazut is priced at VND15,268/kg (down VND379/kg).
