The event "Discover Japan" organized by NHK World-Japan is taking place at Aeon Mall Ha Dong from January 17 to January 23.
Mr. Kuriki Seiichi - the person in charge of the "Discover Japan" program in Vietnam - said that this is the first event organized abroad by NHK World-Japan after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The “Discover Japan” event is held with the aim of improving the quality of service to audiences around the world, including Vietnam, thanks to NHK’s newly launched Vietnamese service. In addition, this is also an opportunity for NHK to promote the image of the country as well as Japanese culture.
The main activities in the event series include: Video screening introducing NHK World-Japan; interactive games. In particular, event attendees will also receive the textbook “Let’s Learn Japanese Together” along with many other attractive and interesting activities.
According to Mr. Kuriki Seiichi, Vietnam is one of the most important markets in Asia for NHK. The “Discover Japan” event not only helps NHK connect with more audiences but also receive direct feedback and evaluation.
“Through this event, we will know the concerns of the audience,” said Mr. Kuriki Seiichi in an interview.
NHK (Nippon Hoso Kyokai) is the first and only public radio and television broadcasting company in Japan. NHK was established on New Year's Day 1926 following the model of the British television station BBC, after merging Radio Tokyo and stations in Nagoya and Osaka.
NHK currently has four domestic television channels and three radio channels. NHK World conducts international broadcasting activities to provide the world with domestic and international information, Japanese culture and lifestyle, and to promote friendship and cultural exchange.
