On June 9, Quang Tri Provincial Police said that the Economic Security Department of the Provincial Police had just discovered and coordinated to handle a case of trading goods showing signs of trademark counterfeiting in the area.
Implementing the direction of the leaders of Quang Tri Provincial Police on strengthening the fight against crime and law violations in the field of intellectual property, the Economic Security Department has proactively deployed professional measures.
Through grasping the situation, functional forces discovered that some business establishments in Dong Hoi ward showed signs of trading goods of unknown origin and origin, counterfeiting large brands.
On that basis, the Economic Security Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with Market Management Team No. 1 to conduct surprise inspections of these establishments.
At the time of inspection, functional forces discovered and temporarily seized 350 shoe products showing signs of counterfeiting famous brands that have been protected in Vietnam such as LV, Gucci, DG... The total value of the seized goods is estimated at more than 50 million VND.
Currently, the case is being further verified and clarified by the Economic Security Department in coordination with functional agencies to handle according to the provisions of law.
