Newborn baby found with umbilical cord still intact abandoned in an abandoned house

Quang Tri - A newborn baby girl weighing more than 3kg, with the umbilical cord still intact, was discovered by locals in an abandoned house in Trieu Co commune.

At noon on October 30, Mr. Doan Quang Dien - Chairman of the People's Committee of Trieu Co commune, Quang Tri province confirmed that an abandoned newborn baby had just been discovered in the area.

Earlier, at around 7am the same day, people in Phuong An village discovered a newborn baby girl wrapped in a thin towel, placed in a cardboard box in an abandoned house near the village cultural house. The baby still has the umbilical cord, weighing more than 3kg.

Immediately afterwards, people reported the incident to the authorities and the police of Trieu Co commune, and took the baby to Trieu Hai Regional General Hospital for care.

The hospital's medical team quickly cut the umbilical cord, heated it, vaccinated it and took necessary care measures.

Mr. Doan Quang Dien said that the local authorities are coordinating with the hospital and people to take care of the baby and are carrying out procedures to find the baby's relatives according to regulations.
