Suspect found carrying drugs at cemetery in Hung Yen

Hung Yen - On April 22, according to Hung Yen Provincial Police, Nam Thuy Anh Commune Police discovered and arrested a subject illegally possessing drugs.

Previously, during patrols and inspections to ensure security and order in the area, the police force of Nam Thuy Anh commune, Hung Yen province discovered a suspect with suspicious signs, thereby seizing exhibits of drugs.

Specifically, at 12:30 pm on April 21, 2026, the Nam Thuy Anh Commune Police Task Force patrolling in the Duyen Nghia village cemetery area discovered a suspicious man, so they conducted an administrative inspection. Through inspection, functional forces discovered and seized a piece of plastic pipe in the form of a yellow straw, inside containing white powder in the form of a lump, suspected to be a drug.

At the police station, the subject confessed to being Pham Viet Thoa (born in 1970, residing in He village, Tay Thuy Anh commune, Hung Yen province). Initially, Thoa confessed that the white powder was drugs, bought for personal use. Checking the subject, functional forces did not discover any related exhibits.

Exhibits were recorded and sealed according to regulations to serve the investigation. The examination results determined that it was Heroin, weighing 0.2127 grams.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency has issued a decision to temporarily detain Pham Viet Thoa to continue investigating and handling according to the provisions of law.
