On March 23, Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee announced that it had just issued Plan No. 91/KH-UBND on organizing Quang Ngai Tourism Festival 2026 with the theme "Discovering Quang Ngai - A place where nature and culture converge".
Taking place from April to June 2026, the series of events promises to contribute to positioning the local tourism brand, while stimulating investment demand and promoting socio-economic development.
The festival space will stretch across many localities in the province with a series of unique activities. The opening is the Hot Air Balloon Festival at Pham Van Dong Square, taking place from April 28 to May 2, 2026.
The opening ceremony is expected to take place on April 30, 2026 with a special art program imbued with the cultural identity of the sea and islands. Next is the Carnival "Colors of Quang Ngai Sea and Islands" with field survey teams (famtrip, presstrip) to introduce key tourism products such as Sa Huynh culture, community tourism and sea and island tourism.
In particular, in the Ly Son special zone, symbolic activities will take place such as the traditional four-spirit boat racing festival, the Khao Le The Linh Hoang Sa ceremony (May 2) and the Ly Son Cross Island sea crossing swimming tournament.
In addition, events such as the "Quang Ngai Sea Fragrance" culinary festival, art kite performances at Co Luy bridge and the Lantern Festival at Tinh Khe water coconut forest will create a vibrant summer.
Closing the series of events, the closing ceremony will be held on June 28, 2026 at the Tra Bong riverside road.
