On July 29, the Quang Tri Provincial Forest Protection Department said that the provincial authorities have increased forest patrolling and control, strictly handling violations related to illegal exploitation, transportation and trading of forest products.
Up to now, 65 violations have been recorded, of which a total of 74.051m3 of various types of wood was confiscated. In July 2025 alone, the authorities discovered 8 violations, confiscated 15.226m3 of wood, and collected more than 26 million VND to the budget from fines and the sale of seized exhibits and vehicles.
Currently, the Quang Tri Provincial Forest Protection Department continues to direct local Forest Protection Departments, Mobile Forest Protection Teams and forest fire prevention and fighting forces to focus on regular forest inspection and patrol, especially in areas with high risk of damage.
The forest rangers are also stepping up monitoring of projects related to forest use conversion and forest exploitation, to ensure compliance with legal regulations. At the same time, deploy measures to block off and search at hot spots, strictly handle violations to promptly prevent the risk of deforestation, illegal transportation of illegal timber and forest products.
