On January 1, 2026, Long Xuyen Ward Police (An Giang) said that the Provincial Police Investigation Agency has issued Decisions to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and Orders to arrest the accused for temporary detention against Nguyen Anh Tai (born 2008) and Phan Thai An (born 2009, both residing in An Giang province) to investigate the act of disturbing public order.
Previously, on August 15, 2025, N.T.T (born 2010, residing in Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province) and 2 friends were sitting drinking coffee at a coffee shop in Long Xuyen ward when they were suddenly attacked by a group of subjects led by Nguyen Anh Tai and Phan Thai An, driving 5 motorbikes, carrying weapons, rushing into the shop and assaulting them.
After committing the crime, Tai's group quickly drove away from the scene. When they reached the Muong Khai Lon bridge area, the subjects threw the knives into the ditch and then dispersed, leaving each person in their own direction.
At the police station, the subjects confessed that due to personal conflicts, they caused the above incident and admitted all violations, and the place where the exhibits were thrown away. According to the examination results, N.T.T's injury rate is 6%.
