On the morning of June 12, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with Ngoc Chuc Commune Police and the Giong Rieng Social Policy Bank Transaction Office (under the An Giang Provincial Branch of the Social Policy Bank) to organize the disbursement of preferential loans for a case of a person after drug detoxification who is eligible to borrow capital for economic development and stabilization of life.

The activity is implemented according to Decision No. 08/2026/QD-TTg dated March 3, 2026 of the Prime Minister on credit for people after drug detoxification and the direction of the Board of Directors of An Giang Provincial Police.
Over the past time, Ngoc Chuc Commune Police have closely coordinated with local departments and branches to review and select cases that have returned to their localities after drug rehabilitation and have needs and are eligible to access policy credit capital. On that basis, the Commune People's Committee has requested the Giong Rieng Social Policy Bank Transaction Office to consider supporting loans.

This time, Mr. N.V.T. (born 1992, residing in Ngoc Chuc commune) was disbursed 50 million VND to expand his motorbike repair shop. The loan applies a preferential interest rate of 6.24%/year, equivalent to the loan interest rate for poor households.
According to An Giang Provincial Police, preferential credit capital not only helps people after detoxification have conditions to develop livelihoods, create jobs, and increase income, but is also a fulcrum for them to overcome inferiority complex, gradually stabilize their lives, and limit the risk of relapse and re-offending the law.

To make capital effective, in addition to the companionship of the police force, local authorities and mass organizations, borrowers need to strive to rise up, use capital for the right purpose, diligently work and produce, thereby building a stable life and sustainable community reintegration.
It is known that this is the second case in An Giang province to access preferential loans for people after drug detoxification since Decision No. 08/2026/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister took effect.
