At 1:40 a.m. on April 20, a major fire broke out at Loc Nghi furniture store, specializing in cleaning and interior products, belonging to Loc Nghi Company Limited (located at 185 3/2 Street, Hung Loi Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City). The fire quickly spread, burning most of the goods and 700 m2 of the store.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Can Tho City Police urgently dispatched 11 fire trucks, 2 pump trucks and 2 vehicles carrying vehicles from professional teams in areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 to the scene.
At the same time, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force coordinated with Hung Loi Ward Police and Ninh Kieu Power Company to deploy fire fighting, rescue and relief work.
At about 2:35 a.m., the fire was basically under control, preventing the risk of spreading to neighboring areas. By 3am the same day, the fire was completely extinguished.
Initial statistics show that the fire caused serious property damage, with most of the stores and many goods burned down. The initial estimated damage is about 2 billion VND. Two adjacent houses were also burned down. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties.
The authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the fire and assess the specific extent of damage.
