On July 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety organized an online training course for food safety officers in 168 wards, communes and specialized administrative units in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025.
At the training session, Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan - Director of the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City said that food safety is not only a professional requirement but also a common responsibility of the entire system, from the management level to each grassroots officer. In particular, the role of ward, commune and special zone cadres is very important. These are the people closest to the people, most knowledgeable of reality and can promptly handle situations arising in the locality.
Even a small mistake in food safety can have big consequences, directly affecting people's health and trust in the government. Therefore, the training course is an opportunity to update knowledge, share experiences and agree on how to do things, so that each of us has more confidence and tools to perform well the assigned tasks. Food safety cannot be subjective.
Some contents of the training session include instructions on the process of granting certificates of food safety eligibility for each field; management, identification and traceability of products...
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety emphasized that grassroots cadres are the "extended arm" of the state management system. Providing adequate knowledge, improving capacity and unifying implementation methods will be an important foundation for the city to maintain food safety and health protection.
