On May 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment organized a program to experience rural occupations in 2026 for students in the area.
In phase 1 of the program, about 100 students visited and experienced the traditional salt production area of Long Dien; visited a number of booths introducing traditional crafts and villages such as An Ngai rice paper, An Nhut banh hoi, Dat Do corn banh tet, Vung Tau fine art snails... At the same time, participated in a gala exchange, folk games, and teambuilding about traditional crafts.
After experiencing, students will write harvest articles, experience diaries, present ideas for preserving and developing rural occupations; participate in taking photos and drawing pictures about traditional occupations. Typical articles and images will be selected to be published into books introducing rural occupations in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment, the program will organize 3 practical experience sessions from May to October 2026 in many typical craft villages and rural industry establishments; each session will have the participation of about 100 students.
This is one of the specific activities to effectively implement the Government's policies on preserving and developing rural industries in the period 2021 - 2030 associated with experiential education, developing rural tourism and building sustainable new rural areas.
Through practical experience, the program aims to spread the message of preserving, conserving and developing rural industries; educating love for homeland, national cultural traditions; and at the same time arousing the spirit of creativity, career orientation and encouraging startups in the field of agriculture - rural areas for the young generation.
At the same time, contributing to creating a positive communication effect in the community, especially young people, about the role of rural occupations in local economic and cultural development; promoting the consumption of craft village products; creating motivation for rural occupation households to continue to maintain production, increase income and preserve traditional cultural identity in the context of integration and development.
