On October 7, according to information from the Dong Thap Provincial Police website, My Loi Commune Police (Dong Thap Province) handed over Tran Hoai Bao and the evidence to Son Qui Ward Police (Dong Thap Province) to investigate and clarify the act of appropriating another person's motorbike.
Previously, at 1:00 p.m. on October 6, 2025, My Loi Commune Police received a report from the Dong Thap Provincial Police Command Information Center about people discovering a subject stealing property (Hond Vario motorbike) on the way to escape to the Western provinces.
Immediately afterwards, working groups under My Loi Commune Police, including regular police forces coordinating with forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level (in Thai Hoa Hamlet, Cho Hamlet and My An Hamlet), quickly organized patrols and controls on the routes towards the Western provinces.
At around 3:00 p.m. the same day, the working group discovered a suspect traveling on National Highway 1, passing through My Loi commune, so they stopped the vehicle, checked and arrested him.
Through quick investigation, the subject gave his name as Tran Hoai Bao (17 years old, residing in Chau Thoi commune, Ca Mau province). Bao confessed to taking advantage of the victim's negligence, a Grab driver hired by Bao to transport him from Ho Chi Minh City to Go Cong area (Tien Giang province), to appropriate a Honda Vario motorbike in Son Qui ward (Dong Thap province). While trying to escape to the West, Bao was discovered and arrested by My Loi Commune Police.
Currently, My Loi Commune Police have recovered the evidence, the Honda Vario motorbike, and handed over the subject and the evidence to Son Qui Ward Police to continue consolidating the case file and handling according to the provisions of law.
