Exhibition of archival documents and historical milestones of Phu Yen

Phu Yen - On March 21, Phu Yen opened the Documentary archive Exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the Province and the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Phu Yen Provincial Liberation Day (April 1, 1975 - April 1, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the Department of Home Affairs of Phu Yen province coordinated with the National Archives Center IV (under the Department of Literature and State Archives) to open the Documentary Exhibition with the theme "History of the formation and development of Phu Yen province through archival documents".

The event is a key activity in the Program "Publishing national archival documents to serve socio-economic development, protect national sovereignty of Phu Yen province in the period of 2022 - 2030".

The exhibition contributes to introducing to the public the heroic historical routes of Phu Yen province, an opportunity to promote the beauty of the land, people, economic development potential and tourism of the locality.

The exhibition is arranged in 4 main parts, including: History of the formation of Phu Yen province through the ages; Phu Yen in the resistance war to power in August 1945 and the period 1946 - 1954; Phu Yen in the resistance war against the US to save the country (1954 - 1975); Phu Yen from 1975 to present.

In particular, the exhibition displays nearly 200 valuable versions of documents, images, charts, and maps. Including Nguyen Dynasty Treasures - the first documentary heritage recognized by UNESCO - related to the history of the formation of Phu Yen land. Many rare documents are published for the first time, giving viewers an in-depth and comprehensive view of the history and culture of the province.

Mr. Truong Ngoc Tuan - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Phu Yen province - said: "This is the first time Phu Yen province has organized such a large-scale archival document exhibition. We hope that through this activity, we will contribute to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, fostering love for the homeland and country for cadres, party members, students and people, thereby jointly building Phu Yen to develop more and more in the integration period".

The exhibition takes place from March 21 to April 2, 2025. On the opening day, the event attracted a large number of cadres, people, students and pupils from the province to visit and learn.
