On February 13, the Border Guard of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province announced that the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention (PCMT&TP) had consecutively cracked down on two cases of illegal drug possession. Thereby, 2 subjects were arrested and about 45 grams of various drugs were seized.
At around 3:10 p.m. on February 10, in front of Cat Lo port, the PCMT&TP force presided over and coordinated with the Port Border Guard Command to discover and arrest Trinh Thanh Tung (born in 1995; residing in Ward 2, Vung Tau) for "Illegal possession of drugs". The seized evidence was a sealed white nylon package, weighing about 5 grams, containing a colorless, transparent crystalline substance. The subject confessed that the evidence was synthetic drugs in the form of rocks for his use.
Then, at 3:55 p.m. on February 11, in the Phuoc Thang street area, the PCMT&TP Department presided over, coordinated with the Chi Linh Border Guard Station and the PC06 Department of the Provincial Police to discover and arrest Le Cong Nhut (born in 1985; residing in Long Dat district) for "Illegal possession of drugs". The seized evidence was a white nylon package weighing about 10 grams, sealed, containing a colorless, transparent crystalline substance.
Conducting an urgent search of the residence of subject Nhut, the authorities seized 11 more white plastic straws weighing about 5 grams, sealed, which the subject confessed were heroin; 3 white nylon packages weighing about 30 grams, sealed, which the subject confessed were synthetic drugs in the form of rocks.
Currently, the cases are being investigated and handled by the authorities according to regulations.
