On February 5th, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Museum - Library, Con Dao facility (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports) opened the thematic exhibition "Flowers in Con Dao Prison" at the Cong Quan Relic.
This is a meaningful cultural activity to celebrate the Party, celebrate Binh Ngo Spring 2026, and celebrate the success of the 14th National Party Congress, towards the 116th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2026).
The exhibition is arranged into 3 main parts including: Hell on earth and the footprints of female prisoners; Loyal flowers in Con Dao prison; Immortal flame. Through this, nearly 200 images, documents, and precious artifacts are introduced, vividly recreating the courageous struggle of female political prisoners at Con Dao Prison - a place once known as "hell on earth" for more than a century.
Typical stories about female revolutionary soldiers: Vo Thi Sau, Nguyen Thi Na, Vo Thi Thang... are displayed, clearly depicting the indomitable will, loyalty, and noble spirit of sacrifice of Vietnamese women in harsh prison conditions.
Con Dao female prisoners in general and generations of female political prisoners across the country have dedicated their youth to the revolutionary cause. The significant contribution of the "long-haired army" has written the heroic pages of a heroic nation.
According to the People's Committee of the Con Dao Special Zone, the thematic exhibition activity is not only aimed at expressing gratitude to the heroic women who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, but also an opportunity to educate patriotism, nurture revolutionary ideals for today's and future generations.
At the same time, affirming that Con Dao is a special historical and cultural destination of the nation, a red address in the journey of gratitude, preserving historical memories and spreading human values, peace, independence and freedom.
