On February 15, the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command sent a letter of thanks to agencies, businesses, socio-political organizations and philanthropists for supporting Lieutenant Tran Viet Luong (working at the Policy Department, Political Department - Dak Lak Provincial Military Command).
Lieutenant Luong has had bone marrow failure since 2021. By 2024, Lieutenant Luong's condition became more and more serious.
According to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Lieutenant Luong needs to undergo a bone marrow transplant (Allogeneic stem cell transplantation from his younger sister) with an estimated cost of 1.3 to 3 billion VND.
Lieutenant Luong's family is facing many difficulties. He is the breadwinner of the family, while his wife is unemployed and raising a child 9 months younger. Both husband and wife had to rent a house, and both parents were unable to provide financial support for this bone marrow transplant.
In that situation, agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists have donated more than 1.5 billion VND to support him. This amount of money was directly transferred by the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command and benefactors to Lieutenant Luong's family.
This is a great source of encouragement, helping him gain more confidence, feel secure in treatment and continue to contribute long-term in the army.
Previously, on January 12, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article: "The young Lieutenant has a serious illness, the family is helpless to pay".
The content of the article shared that after nearly 4 years of fighting bone marrow failure, Lieutenant Tran Viet Luong has not recovered, while his family seems helpless to pay for treatment.
The cost to completely treat Mr. Luong's disease, including bone marrow transplantation and health recovery, is up to 1.3 - 3 billion VND.
The whole family hopes for help from benefactors, philanthropists and charity organizations so that Mr. Luong can soon overcome the danger of poverty.
