On the afternoon of November 27, the Ministry of Home Affairs chaired an international workshop on the ASEAN Cultural - Social Community Strategy Plan to implement the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
Speaking at the opening of the Workshop, Ms. Ha Thi Minh Duc - Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Home Affairs) - said that on May 26, 2025, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia, senior ASEAN leaders signed the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on "ASEAN 2045: Our common future" and approved the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 along with four Strategic Plans on politics - security, economy, culture - society and connectivity.
This is an important milestone, marking a new development journey of the ASEAN Community. She emphasized that the ASEAN Cultural - Social Community, one of the three founding pillars of ASEAN, plays a key role in building a community with people as the center, inclusive, sustainable and self-reliant.
The Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation affirmed that Vietnam and ASEAN member countries are paying great attention to implementing the Strategic Plan, while promoting the integration of national priorities into the common plan of the region.
Therefore, the Workshop is a timely and necessary forum for ministries, branches and agencies to exchange and contribute profound opinions on the implementation of the ASEAN Cultural - Social Community Strategy Plan after 2025 in Vietnam.
In the implementation of ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and Strategic Plans in Vietnam, the Workshop acknowledged the sharing of Ambassador Tran Duc Binh - Director of ASEAN Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) on the plan to develop a comprehensive project of Vietnam to orient the development of the Action Program to implement ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and Strategic Plans on Politics - Security, Economy, Culture - Society and Connectivity.
The workshop also acknowledged the information of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the process of developing a Project to implement the ASCC Strategic Plan after 2025 in Vietnam based on the Strategic Plan of the region and the results of the Final Assessment of the Project to build and implement the Plan to implement the goals of the ASEAN Cultural - Social Community until 2025.
This is also one of the priority contents to carry out the tasks set out in the Draft Overall Project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In particular, the ASEAN Cultural - Social Community Strategy Plan not only demonstrates Vietnam's proactive and positive role in promoting the implementation of regional priorities but also contributes to solving new global challenges such as: the Fourth Industrial Revolution (CMCN 4.0) with the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), climate change, population aging and geopolitical instability.
When approved, the Projects and Programs will be important documents, helping Vietnam shape regional cooperation goals and actions, ensuring that people benefit from economic development and are able to withstand all shocks.
