On March 28, the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long province coordinated with Cuu Long University to organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 Education and Training Sports Festival.
Participating were Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Truong Thanh Nhuan - Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training; Dr. Dang Thi Ngoc Lan - Vice Principal of Cuu Long University; along with leaders of Departments and offices under the Department, Departments of Education and Training and a large number of students, athletes and a large number of students participating.
The tournament took place from March 21 to April 5, attracting 1,044 athletes from primary, secondary, high schools, junior high schools and high schools, Ethnic Boarding Schools, and vocational education and continuing education centers. Athletes competed in 2 events: men's football, women's football and swimming.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Truong Thanh Nhuan - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long province emphasized that this is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
She hopes that through the competition, students who are athletes will be determined to compete with the spirit of "Solidarity - Truckness - Sublimation", demonstrating their personal talent and courage, highlighting the strengths of youth and achieving the highest achievements.
"I request the Referee Board to uphold the sense of responsibility, operate fairly and objectively, select outstanding collectives and individuals to honor, reward, and serve as a basis for selecting athletes for the 12th Sports Festival to celebrate the Vinh Long Provincial Party Congress," Ms. Nhuan emphasized.
