On April 28, Road Traffic Police Team No. 3, Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police said that the unit had made a record of handling a truck driver for overtaking in violation of regulations, causing traffic unsafety.
Previously, on April 26, a resident was driving a car in the direction from National Highway 26 to National Highway 29 (Dak Lak province). When reaching Km491+500, the section passing through Ea Ly commune, Dak Lak province, suddenly a truck running in the opposite direction overtook another vehicle in the same direction and rushed straight towards the car approaching.
Encountering a dangerous situation, the car driver had to brake suddenly, and at the same time steer close to the right side of the road to avoid collision. People in the car panicked and shouted.
Immediately after that, people reported the incident to the traffic police force, along with a video recording the entire diễn biến.
Upon receiving the information, the leaders of Dak Lak Provincial Police directed Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 to urgently verify and strictly handle the violations of the truck driver.
Through verification, functional forces identified the violating vehicle as a truck with license plate 77A-294. XX. After that, driver L.V. D (residing in Gia Lai province) was invited to work.
At the police station, the driver admitted the violation. Based on regulations, the working group made a record of administrative violation against the driver for the offense of "Controlling vehicles to overtake in cases where overtaking is not allowed" according to point a, clause 5, Article 6, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
For this violation, the driver was fined 5 million VND and had 2 points of his driver's license deducted.
