From 2 to 3.6, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, the Coast Guard Party Committee of the Coast Guard successfully organized the 6th Congress of Delegate, term 2025-2030. This is the Congress chosen by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard Party Committee to draw in advance to learn from experience and direct the general Party Committee directly at the grassroots level in the entire Coast Guard Party Committee.
For the 2020 - 2025 term, the Party Committee and Command of Coast Guard Region 4 have maintained the leadership principle, overcome all difficulties, and successfully completed the Resolution of the 5th Regional Party Congress. Notably: Fighting readiness, patrolling, controlling, fighting against crime; training, and building regularity; propaganda and technical assurance work.
During the term, the unit inspected and handled 1,866 cases/2,152 ships; administratively sanctioned 1,809 cases/2,059 ships, with a total fine of more than 35 billion VND; confiscated nearly 9.89 million liters of DO oil, nearly 90,000 kg of scrap iron and more than 230 million tons of fertilizer. The total value of assets sold and paid to the state budget reached nearly 150 billion VND. In addition, the unit has handed over 55 cases/91 violating vessels to the authorities for handling in accordance with legal regulations. Propaganda, dissemination and legal education for more than 104,000 people, distributing more than 67,800 leaflets and propaganda documents of all kinds.
The Command of the Region has implemented 29 "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" programs; provided medical support to 44 fishermen, rescued 24 people, caused problems for 5 fishing boats, participated in 3 forest and house fires, provided free 350m3 of fresh water and 900 20-liter filtered water bottles to help local people overcome drought and salinity. The unit also provided emergency subsidies to 95 cases, built 3 gratitude houses, awarded 250 scholarships and sponsored 12 students in especially difficult circumstances in the area; organized 21 "I love the sea and islands of my hometown" Contests at 166 secondary and high schools in the area, attracting over 154,000 teachers and students to participate...
With outstanding achievements, the Commander of the Region and the Commander of the Region were awarded the Second Class Medal of Military Exploit by the President along with nearly 500 collectives and more than 1,000 individuals at all levels.
Speaking at the Congress, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Party Secretary - Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive spirit, overcoming difficulties, and responsible efforts of the Party Committee, cadres, and Party members of the Region Party Committee in leading, directing, and organizing well the preparation for the Congress.
In order to successfully carry out the tasks in the next term, the Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard requested the regional Party Committee to thoroughly grasp and focus on leading some contents well. In particular, focusing on leading to improve the quality of the effectiveness of the fight against crime, violating the law at sea, the focus is the task of preventing smuggling, trade frauds and fake goods. Further strengthening the coordination relationship with agencies, units and functional forces in evaluating the situation and implementing the assigned political tasks, closely coordinating with the Party committees and local authorities at all levels, promoting the implementation of mobilization with many rich and practical activities.
After 2 days of active, urgent and highly responsible work, the 6th Congress of the Coast Guard Region 4 Party Committee was a great success, completing all the contents and programs set out.
The Congress elected 15 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Coast Guard Party Committee 4 terms 2025 - 2030. At the first meeting, the Party Committee of the Region elected the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of 5 comrades and the Party Inspection Committee of 7 comrades. Comrade Major General Nguyen Van Dung, Political Commissar of the Regional BTL continued to be trusted to be elected as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Coast Guard 4; Comrade Major General Tran Van Luong, the Regional Commander continued to be elected as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
At the same time, the Congress also elected a delegation to attend the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Coast Guard Party Committee, consisting of 22 official delegates and 2 absent delegates.
The Congress passed the Congress Resolution with a 100% consensus, clearly demonstrating the high spirit of solidarity and unity throughout the Party.
