On June 14, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province sent a document to agencies, units and localities to proactively respond to heavy rain, the risk of floods, flash floods, and landslides in the province in the coming time.
In particular, Heads of agencies, units and localities should strengthen inspection, urging and organizing timely and effective implementation of natural disaster prevention, control and rescue work, not to be passive, surprised, and not to interrupt in natural disaster response when arranging and perfecting the organizational apparatus of the political system and rearranging administrative units and local government organizations at 2 levels.
For the Department of Agriculture and Environment in coordination with the Dong Thap Province Hydrometeorological Station, closely monitor and warn of heavy rain, floods, inundation, landslides and provide timely and complete information to local authorities and people to proactively prevent and minimize damage.
Along with that, the Department of Agriculture and Environment proactively coordinated with the Civil Defense - Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command to review and develop a plan to advise the Provincial People's Committee to reorganize forces to carry out natural disaster prevention and control tasks, search and rescue, not to be passive, surprised, and not to interrupt the work of responding to natural disasters when arranging.
The Department will complete the organizational apparatus of the political system and rearrange administrative units and organize local government at 02 levels from July 1, 2025 (after the district level ends its operation).
