According to the agreement, Kim Long Motor invests in building a new energy battery factory in Vietnam with a comprehensive transfer of technology and technology from BYD Group. This is the foundation for businesses to gradually master the technology of producing electric car batteries.
BYD is the world's leading technology and new energy car corporation. Cooperation with BYD helps Kim Long Motor access advanced technology standards, improve design, production and quality management capabilities in the battery sector, in line with long-term development strategies.
BYD Battery factory is built in Kim Long Motor Hue Automobile Manufacturing and Assembly Industrial Park. The factory produces battery lines for trucks, buses, minivans, minibuses... serving the domestic market and aiming for export. Battery and commercial vehicle products manufactured by Kim Long Motor bear the "Made in Vietnam" brand.
Notably, Kim Long Motor pioneered the research, development and production of an EV 34-seater sleeper bus model, applying modern BYD battery technology. This is the first inter-provincial sleeper bus model using new energy to serve the Vietnamese market and Southeast Asia, marking an important breakthrough in Kim Long Motor's journey to master technology, creating motivation to promote the trend of green and sustainable transport development.

The project has a total investment of 130 million USD, implemented in two phases. Phase 1 is built on a factory area with a roof of 4.4 ha, capacity of 3 GWh/year. Phase 2 expands by 10 ha, increasing the total capacity to 6 GWh/year.
With high automation technology and modern quality management system, BYD Battery Factory not only meets domestic demand but also aims to export, contributing to affirming the technological capacity and position of Vietnamese enterprises in the international market.
Mr. Dao Viet Anh - General Director of Kim Long Motor - shared: "Kim Long Motor identifies the development of electric vehicles not only as an inevitable trend but as a long-term strategy associated with the autonomy of the national industry. Strategic cooperation with BYD Group and investment in building BYD Battery Factory demonstrates our strong commitment to mastering core technologies, instead of just stopping at assembly or processing. We believe that developing green industry is not only the social responsibility of businesses but also a sustainable competitive advantage in the green economic era.

When put into operation, the BYD Battery Factory will contribute to helping the business achieve the goal of a localization rate of over 80% by the second quarter of 2026, gradually forming a regional-scale battery and electric vehicle production center.
The project is expected to create new development momentum for Vietnam's automobile industry, contributing to promoting green transportation and realizing the commitment to net zero emissions by 2050, while enhancing Vietnam's position on the regional and world clean energy industry map.
