MINH PHONG |

Vietnam won a ticket to the final of the ASEAN Cup 2024 after defeating Singapore in two semi-final matches.

On the evening of December 29, at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), the Vietnamese team defeated Singapore with a score of 3-1 in the second leg of the semi-finals. Along with the 2-0 victory in the first leg of the semi-finals, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team officially won a ticket to the final of the ASEAN Cup 2024.

According to the draw code from the beginning of the tournament, the Vietnamese team will play the first leg of the final at home in Viet Tri (Phu Tho) on January 2, 2025 and the second leg away on January 5, 2025.

Currently, the opponent of the Vietnamese team in the final is still undetermined. It will be the winner of the remaining semi-final match between Thailand and the Philippines.

Previously, in the first leg of the semi-finals, Thailand unexpectedly lost 1-2 to the Philippines. Therefore, the upcoming second leg of the semi-finals (December 30) between the two teams is expected to bring many exciting developments.

If Thailand advance from the group stage, Vietnam will play the final at Rajamangala Stadium. Conversely, if the Philippines reach the final, coach Kim Sang-sik's team will once again play as guests at Rizal Memorial Stadium (artificial turf).

Of course, the dream final that many fans are looking forward to is the match between Vietnam and Thailand - a match considered to be a "arch-rival" in Southeast Asia.
