On June 28, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Chanh commune, Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with socio-political organizations, organized a launching ceremony to respond to the emulation movement "All people join hands to protect the environment, for a green - clean - beautiful Vietnam", towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh City honorably named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2026).
Launching at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Chanh commune Chung My Duyen called on officials, union members and people to implement practical actions such as maintaining the hygiene of residential areas, sorting waste at source, limiting plastic waste, planting and caring for green trees, contributing to building a green, clean, and beautiful living environment.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Loi - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Chanh commune, environmental protection is a regular task of the entire political system and each citizen. In the process of urbanization, the formation of green living habits from daily actions will contribute to creating sustainable changes for the locality.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, forces simultaneously launched campaigns to clean up the environment on many roads. On Huynh Van Tri street, union members, association members and people collect garbage, clear weeds, and clean both sides of the road. On Le Kha Phieu street, functional forces coordinated with union members and youth to remove illegal advertisements and leaflets, renovate power poles, fences and add green trees, contributing to improving urban aesthetics.

In addition to environmental protection activities, the program also implements social security activities. Binh Chanh Commune Business Association supported 40 million VND to repair houses for a difficult household; 13 scholarships, worth 2 million VND/scholarship, were awarded to orphans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The organizing committee also donated 50 pots of green trees to households to encourage building green living spaces from each family.
According to Ms. Chung My Duyen, in the coming time, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations will continue to replicate the "green - clean - beautiful" residential area models, self-managed roads and mobilize people to maintain the habit of sorting waste, reducing plastic waste, gradually bringing the environmental protection movement into reality.
